Suffolk County Council will be carrying out improvements to Needham Market footpath 11 (shown in pink on the map) from 17th July. Works are expected to last a maximum of 2 weeks.

Owing to the impact on the footpath to pedestrians a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order on this footpath is in force – the alternative footpath to be used is shown in green on the map.

The scope of the works is as follows:

To remove any fallen trees and foliage across the footpath to a height of 8ft.

To scrape the section of footpath that has a sealed surface (approx. 120m) from union with Grinstead hill to entrance of small holding. Repair potholes if necessary.

Surface the top section of the FP11 from the southern boundary of Hopkins Homes site for a length of 140m with an unsealed surface to a width where possible of 1.8m (we will not be removing any live trees, as a result there may be some pinch points) to 1.2m. The weathering course used will be granite fines 20mm to dust. Geo textile to be used to protect tree roots.
